Why This Is Hard

Old Houses Punish Guesswork

Most of the trouble on a New Orleans renovation shows up after demolition starts. Here is what usually goes wrong.

Quotes That Keep Climbing

The number moves every time something is opened up. You stop being able to plan.

Plaster Nobody Will Touch

Crews who only know drywall will tell you to gut it. Often it can be saved.

Floors That Slope

Pier and beam settles. Tile goes down over the problem instead of after it is fixed.

Contractors Who Go Quiet

The job stalls, the calls stop, and nobody will tell you what week it is happening.

How We Work

Five Steps, No Surprises

Same process on every job, whether it is one bathroom or the whole house.

  1. Consultation and Design

We come out, look at the actual house, and talk through what you want. You get a plan built around your place, not a template pulled off a shelf.

  2. We Handle the Whole Job

Materials, trades, scheduling and clean up. One crew and one point of contact, so you are not chasing five different people.

  3. You Always Know Where It Stands

You hear from us at every stage. If something changes, you hear it from us first, not from a bill at the end.

  4. Built to Last

Careful work, good materials, and the details that decide whether a job still looks right after a few New Orleans summers.

  5. Not Done Until You Say So

We walk the finished job with you and fix the small things before we call it complete.

What We Do

Renovation Services

Residential renovation across the New Orleans metro, the Northshore and Baton Rouge.

Bathroom Renovation

Full remodels and refits. Tile, fixtures, layout changes, and the waterproofing underneath that nobody sees.

Learn More

Kitchen Renovation

Layout, cabinets, counters and lighting. Including the awkward galley kitchens in shotgun houses.

Learn More

Whole Home Renovation

Top to bottom on shotguns, doubles and raised centre halls. Sequenced so you are not living in a site longer than you have to.

Learn More

Flooring

Hardwood, tile and vinyl plank. We level and fix the subfloor first, which is most of the job in an old house.

Learn More

Cabinet Refacing

New doors and fronts on sound boxes. A smaller job than a full kitchen when the layout already works.

Learn More

Roofing

Repairs and replacements built for heat, heavy rain and storm season. The first thing to get right on an old house.

Learn More

Home Siding

Siding repair and replacement that keeps weather out and suits the age of the house.

Learn More

Gutters

Sized and pitched to actually move New Orleans rain away from the foundation instead of into it.

Learn More

Drainage

Water sitting against a New Orleans foundation causes the settling that wrecks floors and doors. Fix the water first.

Learn More

Fences and Gates

Wood and metal fencing, plus gates that still swing true after a wet summer.

Learn More

Ironworks

Railings, balconies and gates. The detail that reads as New Orleans more than anything else on a house.

Learn More

Patios

Outdoor space built to sit on for most of the year, and to drain properly the rest of it.

Local Knowledge

We Know These Houses

New Orleans housing stock is not like anywhere else. Shotguns and doubles built long before modern framing. Pier and beam that moves with the ground under it. Plaster and lath instead of drywall. Heart pine that is worth saving. Humidity that gets into everything.

A crew that learned on new construction in a dry climate will make expensive mistakes here. We work on these houses every week, so we know what to check before demolition rather than after.

We also work inside historic district rules where they apply, so the work does not have to be undone later.

Warranty

Backed In Writing

Most contractors will not put a number on how long the work lasts. Here are ours.

50

Year Non Pro-rated Warranty

Non pro-rated means the cover does not shrink as the years pass. Year 49 is covered like year one.

10

Year Workmanship Warranty

Materials are the manufacturer’s problem. Workmanship is ours, and we stand behind it for a decade.

15

Year Unlimited Wind Warranty

Unlimited wind cover from named storms. On this coast that is the warranty that actually gets tested.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What renovation services do you offer?

Bathrooms, kitchens and whole home renovations, plus flooring, cabinet refacing, roofing, siding, gutters, drainage, fences and gates, ironworks and patios. If you are not sure whether we cover it, call and ask.

Do you work on historic and older homes?

Yes, and it is most of what we do. Shotguns, doubles and raised centre halls, with plaster walls and pier and beam foundations. We check for settling and moisture before demolition, not after.

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. We come out, look at the job, and give you a written scope and a written number. There is no charge and no obligation.

What areas do you cover?

The New Orleans metro, the Northshore and Baton Rouge. That includes Slidell, Covington, Mandeville, Madisonville, Kenner, Gretna, LaPlace, Hammond, St Rose and Baton Rouge.

Can I live in the house during the work?

Usually yes for a single room. For a whole home renovation it depends on how much of the plumbing and power comes offline at once. We will tell you honestly at the walkthrough rather than after you have moved back in.

How do I get a quote?

Fill in the form on this page or call 504-470-0455. We will set up a time to walk the house, then send a written scope and price.
