Bathroom Renovation
Full remodels, shower rebuilds and vanity swaps, with the waterproofing done properly before any tile goes on.
Kenner, Louisiana
Kenner is largely mid-century suburban stock, plus the older Rivertown area near the Mississippi. Two different renovation conversations.
Serving Jefferson Parish
Most of Kenner went up in the post-war decades. That means slab construction, original kitchens and bathrooms that are now well past their service life, and layouts built for how people lived several decades ago.
Rivertown, closer to the river, is older and has more character stock where the work looks more like city renovation than suburban updating.
Being in Jefferson Parish and close to the airport corridor, drainage and roof condition come up constantly.
People in Kenner search for a remodeler and for a renovation contractor interchangeably. Whichever word you use, this is the work: bathroom and kitchen remodeling, whole home renovation, and the roofing, siding and drainage that keeps it all dry.
Local Detail
Most of Kenner went up in the post-war decades, and the housing stock reflects a very specific moment: slab on grade, compartmentalised floor plans, and kitchens and bathrooms that were well designed for 1965 and have been limping along ever since.
The most common job we are called for here is opening up a plan. Those homes were built with the kitchen walled off from everything else, and taking that wall out transforms how the house works. The question is always whether it carries load, which we establish before you commit to the idea rather than after the ceiling is open.
Original kitchens and bathrooms in this stock are usually well past replacement rather than refresh. Cabinet boxes have taken sixty years of Gulf Coast humidity, and the plumbing behind the walls is often the real reason to do the work now.
Rivertown, closer to the Mississippi, is older and has more character stock. Work there looks more like city renovation: plaster, original trim, and structure worth checking.
Being on flat ground in Jefferson Parish, roofing and drainage come up constantly alongside the interior work.

How It Works
The same process on every job in the New Orleans metro, whether it is one room or the whole house.
We come to the property and look at the actual house. On older New Orleans homes that means checking settling, moisture and what sits behind the plaster before anyone quotes a number.
You get the work written down: what is included, what is not, and what could change it. No charge and no obligation.
Materials, trades and scheduling handled in house. You hear about problems the day we find them, not in a bill at the end.
We walk the finished work with you, write down anything you are not happy with, and fix it before the job is called complete.

Most of Kenner filled in during the mid-1900s as New Orleans grew outward. Neighbourhoods like Chateau Estates, Woodlake, Susan Park, and Oakland Plantation are largely brick homes built slab on grade from that era. A kitchen or bath remodel in one of these homes usually means working with slab plumbing and the electrical standards of that period.
Rivertown, along the Mississippi River, is the exception. It’s Kenner’s oldest section, with older raised homes and a different renovation profile: aging wiring, older plumbing, and construction details you won’t find in the newer subdivisions.
Knowing which part of Kenner a home sits in tells us a lot before we even walk the property.
Kenner sits low, close to both the river and Lake Pontchartrain, and like the rest of the New Orleans area, it relies on a pump system to move rainwater out rather than letting it drain by gravity. That reality shapes renovation decisions around grading, gutters, and how water moves away from the foundation.
We factor drainage into every Kenner renovation, especially additions or exterior work where changing the footprint of a home can change how water flows across the lot.

FAQ
Usually. The first question is whether it is load bearing, and if it is, it needs a properly sized beam and support. We work that out before quoting so the number you get is the real one.
Only if the boxes are sound. After that long in this humidity they often are not, especially under the sink. We will tell you straight which one you have.

Usually. The question is which walls are load bearing, and we establish that before you commit to the idea. See whole home renovation.

It does. Kenner depends on pumps to move rainwater out rather than natural drainage, so we pay close attention to grading and where water goes once it leaves the roof and yard, especially on additions that change the home’s footprint.
Yes. Rivertown is Kenner’s oldest section, with older raised homes and older wiring and plumbing. Newer subdivisions are mostly slab-on-grade brick homes from the mid-1900s, which changes how we approach plumbing and electrical work.
